Celebrating marching excellence!

The 5th Annual Deep South Marching Competition is a new tradition to a tradition-rich community. 

We are very excited to introduce bands from all over to our great community.  Our invitational offers:

 

• A professional panel of adjudicators who are experts in their field, giving you useful written and recorded feedback to improve your performance.

• FAIR and BALANCED judging with relevant measures of evaluation (quality over quantity).

• A comfortable environment for students to enjoy and learn from the competitive experience.

• A community of dedicated volunteers who are committed to Marching Band as a sport and an art form.

• Vendors who love marching band as much as your students do – and want to help them have a great time!

• TONS of great food – for you, your staff, and your students.

• Great bands, great music, and a great time!

• TONS of awards – including a six-foot trophy for the Grand Champion.

Our contest is designed to accommodate bands of all sizes and any instrumentation. Our judges reward quality relative to the classification of the band. Band classifications are based on the published GMEA classifications.
